LAMDA Lessons
What do we teach ?

Our students will have the opportunity to play characters, explore their imaginations, and learn how to present a scene to an audience. They will explore text and discover how to find truth in the story they are telling.
They will learn about voice work, articulation, movement as well as how to empathise with others, all while finding a sense of self.
Most of all, they will find self-confidence and learn how to look someone in the eye, communicate effectively and learn the life long skills surrounding manners and conversation.
All sessions are run by professionally trained, working actors.
-
We can travel to your home, and run the sessions in a living room or other available space. (later down the line this can be done on Zoom if preferred).
-
These classes work best on a weekly basis, with the view to take the exam at the end of the course (or not, as some clients prefer the skills to be learnt without the pressure of an exam).
Techniques
-
We start with confidence building (allowing kids to come out their shells, play and be open with others). From here, it is about teaching them to control their nerves or adrenaline, using it to their advantage.
-
This includes breath work; learning to breathe from the belly rather than the chest for example.
-
Planting their feet and being grounded when communicating.
-
Looking people in the eye when speaking - being direct, deliberate and open in their communication.
-
We then apply these skills to text such as a poem or monologue. If for Speaking in Public, we would run mock interviews (useful for school interviews).
